About 150 km from Udaipur, Jawai (near Bera) is a rugged landscape of granite kopjes, a large dam and scrubland that has become one of India's most reliable places to spot leopards in the wild. Uniquely, the leopards here live in harmony with the local Rabari herders — a rare human-wildlife coexistence found almost nowhere else.

Day-wise Itinerary
Udaipur to Jawai — Evening Safari
Morning pickup from Udaipur and a scenic 3-hour drive to Jawai. Check in to your jungle resort and relax over lunch. In the late afternoon, head out on your first open-jeep leopard safari across the granite hills, returning by dusk for dinner and a starlit night at the resort.
Morning Safari & Return
Early-morning safari when leopards are most active — the best chance for sightings and photography. Return for breakfast, visit Jawai Dam for crocodiles and birdlife, then check out and drive back to Udaipur with drop at your hotel/airport/station. Tour concludes.

Jawai is one of India's most reliable leopard destinations and sightings are very common, especially on early-morning safaris — but as with all wildlife, they can never be 100% guaranteed.
October to March is ideal — pleasant weather, active wildlife and migratory birds at the dam. Summer safaris are also productive as animals gather near water.
